Deploy* is a free, open source, web application which allows user to quickly deploy a web project framework with valid XHTML and CSS in only a matter of seconds.

With a simple form Deploy* allows you to generate a web project framework which can include, but not limited to, CSS Resets, JavaScript libraries*, CSS Templates*, PHP includes*, and even throw in a couple of jQuery plugins and extra directories that are used frequently in web development. Deploy* very simply takes the most basic tidious tasks out of web development and lets you get started almost instantly. Even more so with Deploy*’s bookmark feature.

Deploy* allows you bookmark your deployed project and then go back to it and have a fresh new project generated on the spot and with only a single click. Download the bookmark on your machine and put it on your desktop and have your project ready to be generated right from your desktop. As an added bonus to Mac users, they can use Fluid.app and put it in the their menu bar and have a download ready without even opening their web browser.

*As of writing this the current version of Deploy* (1.3.2) doesn’t have these features out for the public at the moment. They built a proof of concept to see if it could be done, they even got sprites and music embedded into the javascript file. It works, and hey it’s Super Mario Bros in your web browser!

Here’s an experiment in keepings things small and confined to one Javascript file. There are no external image files or anything, everything is rendered with Javascript using either canvas elements or old fashioned div-making tactics (for IE). The sprites are stored in custom encoded strings in a format that only allows 4 colors for each sprite but in turn only takes up around 40-60 bytes per sprite.

We also have MIDI music embedded as base64-encoded data: URI’s. No music for IE, though, and it seems all the other browsers each have different, minor problems with it, but it sort of works.
