Project Launches in the news: HIV Youth Project, STARS Youth Launch Foundation, Anti-Child Labor Project

HIV Youth Project

“We are proud to officially release the new and redesigned HIV Youth Project. We are constantly striving to present the most relevant news affecting our communities in an organized, easy to read fashion.”

“The Project aims to create, connect and foster a sense of community for HIV-positive youth, by youth. Although our attention is focused on queer-identified communities of color, we welcome all marginalized groups, including but not limited to women and the differently abled. Our primary goals are to provide a welcoming, safe and supportive social space to help newly-diagnosed youth come to terms with their status by capitalizing on the Internet’s unique dynamic of semi-anonymous free expression.”

In Ukraine, ‘STARS’ Youth Launch Charitable Foundation

DONETSK, Ukraine – In the east Ukrainian city of Donetsk, a new community project has gotten underway – the ‘From Heart to Heart’ Charity Foundation. Initiated by students in the ‘STARS’ youth program, this undertaking is dedicated in honor of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of righteous memory.

The inspiration for the foundation itself came from the Rebbe’s words “In making sacrifices for worthy dealings, you are essentially paying your debt as G-d himself has done. As well, the more you give, the more you receive”. The goal of the project is to provide material assistance to elderly and lonely Jews, as well as the opportunity for students in the ‘STARS’ program to perform two important mitzvahs – ‘Tzdaka’ (charity or aid) and ‘Ahavat Israel’ (love of one’s neighbor).
